What To Bring

If you're heading out for a short cycle ride there shouldn't be too much that you need to take with you - apart from a few precautionary items such as a puncture repair kit, waterproof jacket, and perhaps an alan key to adjust your seat if necessary.

Taking kids or embarking on a longer ride can be a different matter though...

Taking the Kids:

We all know that kids just want to have fun - so its unlikely they want to carry a jacket, lunch, drink, or anything else for that matter. Someone has to and unfortunatley it is likely to be you! Pack sensibly, making sure to take the essentials such as plasters, tissues, snacks and drinks, waterproofs and even gloves if its a bit chilly.

Longer Rides:

If youre venturing far from your local area, or indeed somewhere local but new to you, then take a map. If youre planning to cycle part of the National Cycle Network there is a range of free maps available - click here for details.

Pack your lunch and essentials in a Camelback bag - they are small, comfortable, and have a water carrying pouch with tube that allows you to drink while you pedal! Camelback bags are sold at any good cycle shops

And if you dont fancy carrying your lunch then plan a route with a good cafe or pub on the way!
